Designing your own home can be a rollercoaster of emotions for anyone. But it's especially challenging when you live and breathe interiors day in and day out like Jade Joyner, Chief Creative Officer at Metal + Petal.
Joyner is designing every corner of her forty-year-old, custom-built manor, which sits on a beautiful seven acres of land in Athens, GA.
Today, we're looking inside the home's library, and dining space — two of the rooms Joyner has recently renovated and redesigned.
The library features warm wood, custom built-ins, and an inviting central fireplace. Joyner blended traditional trim with more streamlined pieces to create a timeless yet interesting look. "The traditional design honors the history of the house, while the contemporary twists elevate it into something timeless, yet still interesting," said Joyner. .
The room was designed to be cozy, perfect or winding down after a long day or enjoyed a relaxed weekend around the central fireplace. "The balance of the neutral sofa with the wood and the mix of traditional trim paired with more streamlined pieces creates an inviting, comfortable space," explained Joyner. "The traditional design honors the history of the house, while the contemporary twists elevate it into something timeless, yet still interesting."
The spaces, the layout and the design are made for entertaining, which fits beautifully into our lifestyle
